Lucy Liu Dons a Roland Mouret Gown and Roger Vivier Clutch at Int’l Gala

Nov 12 2012

Elementary star Lucy Liu looked simply elegant at the 2012 Women For Women International Gala held a few days ago. The actress received the Champion of Peace Award and she definitely dressed for the occasion in a black gown by Roland Mouret, Wilfredo Rosado jewelry and a sequin-embroidered Roger Vivier clutch.

Feeling a little chilly, she slipped into a printed Roberto Cavalli cape that played up her ensemble quite nicely.

The Roger Vivier clutch, bursting with gold and silver embroidered sequins in fern-like patterns, was the perfect accessory to her polished and sophisticated look. Do you know what this clutch is called? Drop us a line or two!

We thought you might want to score a similar clutch while on a shoestring budget. Check out our online finds:

Kate Beckinsale’s STARK White Lock & Chain Clutch

Nov 10 2012

We’re backtracking a few months to feature a fancy clutch seen in the hands of the lovely Kate Beckinsale. The English actress and Total Recall star arrived at the Porsche Design 40th Anniversary Event in Los Angeles wearing a Vivienne Westwood strapless sequin creation with drape detail, Christian Louboutin pumps, and a white envelope clutch that matched the tie-dyed effect of her dress:

The white clutch is from Stark, a handbag brand by British socialite and designer Petra Stunt who also creates luxurious clutches. It caught our attention because of the lock and chain detail and sleek design. We found product photos of the clutch and were delighted to see that they also come in various patterns and colors. Take a look:

Part of Stark’s Spring 2012 collection, all clutches are made of exotic python skin and feature unique chain closures plus removable mirrors. They retail at $1,400 each.

If you want extra security on your clutch (read: less item spillage), these chain-lock bags go the extra mile. However, if budget is a problem, we also found this chain-lock clutch that’s a fraction of the price of Stark envelopes:

Safe and secure. Made of calfskin, this clutch features a bright gold chain-lock, one pocket and four card holders.

Spunky & Spiked: More Edgy Clutch Bags

Nov 9 2012

The spike-and-stud trend seems to be well-received until now. All Clutch Bags previously featured uber-cool spiked clutches and they’re still pretty much in demand. We couldn’t blame you—today’s spikes are so girly punk and even if you don’t want a whole ensemble of these metallic piercers, you can just accessorize with a spike bag.

Karmaloop is currently having a sale on these spiked beauties…all at 50% off! Take a look and get ready to rock it!

The Gold Spike Clutch Bag, 22 by Ventidue, on sale at $166.95 (was $334)

Punk rock chic. This clutch bag in black patent Italian leather has spike detail at the sides and comes with a goldtone metal chain.

The Silver Spike Clutch, 22 by Ventidue, on sale at $161.95 (was $324)

Goth meets glam. A small crocodile embossed Italian leather bag, it features silver spike detail, a lock and key closure and a short strap.

We’re also loving these clutches from Go Jane:

Spiked Leather Clutch, $41.40

More attitude, less value. A wide variety of rhinestones, spikes and studs are embellished at the sides of this vegan black leather clutch. It’s also available in gold (pictured above) and red.

Hurry and grab a spiked bag now (don’t worry, the spikes won’t hurt)!

Back in Style: Clear Clutches

Nov 4 2012

Transparent clutches are making a comeback! After being paraded on the Spring/Summer 2013 runways — from Valentino, to Gucci, to Stella McCartney — we can clearly say that the transparent trend will be a hit.

While some may not like the fact that every little thing they carry in their bag can be seen, these see-through clutches are too pretty to pass up. This trend has been coming and going for years and now that we’re seeing more modern takes on acrylic and lucite accessories, many fashionistas might just embrace this trend.

Here are sneak peeks of the S/S 2013 Valentino transparent minaudieres which are made of Plexiglass and adorned with gorgeous rhinestones:

Valentino Transparent Mimetic Minaudiere, €2,549 or about $3,200

Valentino Butterfly Minaudiere, €3,599 or about $4,600

We searched for see-through clutch bags that are currently selling at a fraction of the cost the designer bags (will) offer and found this:

Pandora, Charlotte Olympia, £595 or about $960

We featured a similar Charlotte Olympia clutch as worn by Olivia Palermo. The Pandora, seen above, has a spider closure and is still in stock. If you want to jump in on the see-through trend right now, this clutch is a perfect buy.

We’ll be keeping a clear watch on this transparent trend and hopefully feature some that fit your budget. Stay tuned!
