Hobo International Lauren Clutch: A Best Seller

Jun 19 2010

If you’re going to buy a fresh piece of leather clutch and you want to make sure you’re getting the best value for your money, then get the Hobo International Lauren Clutch:

Hobo International Lauren Clutch, $118

It is a classic looking clutch on the outside, but what’s great about it is that it keeps your small things (cards, bills, ID, lipstick, etc) organized with its multiple compartments.

It comes with two major frame compartments with clasp closures, a slip pocket inside one of the compartments, and when you unsnap the magnetic closure that holds the two frames together, you see more slots for storage – a zipper compartment, three (3) card slots, and an ID slot. That’s a whole lot of compartments for one small piece of accessory!

Aside from its multi-compartment feature, another point that will attract you to this best seller is that it comes in 15 different colors and textures – from smooth blacks, to brights, to embossed leather, to prints.

It may be pricier compared to other clutch bags but as how one customer would put it, “it goes well with anything”. In other words, this clutch will take you a long way and give you your money’s worth.

In terms of quality, from the soft leather to the workmanship put into making it, the Lauren clutch has not fallen short. It is definitely a well made piece.

Jennifer Lopez: Sparkle Overload

Jun 17 2010

J. Lo was blindingly dazzling at the recent Apollo Theater Sping Benefit Concert in NYC. From her sequined dress to her gargantuan baubles to her embellished clutch! Good thing she kept the shoes toned down in classic black peep toe pumps.

Are you liking her look here? I have some doubts about it, if you ask me. But don’t get me wrong, she looks amazing as usual. I guess I’m just getting tired of her OTT (over-the-top) looks.

J. Lo’s sparkle overload aside, what caught my eye is that stunning Etro clutch she was holding.

I wanted to know more about this beaded beauty but couldn’t find it anymore in the Etro website. Well, all I know is that its gorgeous and might cost me an arm and a leg.

Even if I am getting jaded with J.Lo’s too over done/ over styled looks, I was still inspired from her look to put together something I would recommend her to wear to this event if I  were her stylist.

This Rachel Roy number, $1995 will be a break from all those figure-hugging, skin-showing dresses so synonymous to J. Lo. And with a pair of sophisticated Elizabeth & James black pumps, $265.50 to go with the dress, she will still be a stunner.

Not one to leave her house without her baubles, these Lizzie Fortunato Mystery of the Mojave Desert earrings, $142.80 will do the trick. And let’s not forget the star of the whole ensemble, the BCBG Max Azria Metal Tribe clutch, $148.

Spotted: The PS1 Clutch on Anna Paquin

Jun 15 2010

I think Anna Paquin is hot. I love her in True Blood. I never expected her to turn out as hot as she is now, but I am glad she did.

Apart from being hot, Anna also keeps it fashionable on a regular basis, especially when she steps on the red carpet. Case in point, when she appeared alongside her True Blood co-stars at the True Blood Season 3 premiere in Hollywood last June 7:

Anna Paquin HBO’s “True Blood” Season 3 Premiere at the ArcLight Cinemas Cinerama Dome, June 8, 2010

Anna was wrapped in designer duds from head to toe that day – Proenza Schouler and Brian Atwood (for the shoes) to be exact. And in her hand was the “IT” Bag of the Moment’s little sister, the python embossed PS1 Pochette in Black.

The PS1 Pochette is the PS1 Satchel’s little sister. You can get a piece at LaGarconne for US$895. Yes, that’s how expensive it is. But then again, you’re paying for the experience of owning a designer bag that is also a celebrity favorite.

Honestly, I don’t see anything ultra-special about the purse apart from the fact that it’s a Proenza Schouler. I think you can get the same look from other purses for a much lower price. Like these for example:

BCBGeneration Foldover Clutch, US$54; Calvin Klein Pearlized Snakes Clutch, US$118

From top (clockwise): MICHAEL Michael Kors Moxley Patent Clutch, US$178; Rolfs Cayman Wristlet Clutch, US$34; Jesselli Couture Croc Clutch, US$119

But that’s just me thinking my thoughts out loud. What do you think? Are the alternatives I presented good enough? Or is the PS1 clutch totally from a whole different level?

Jessica Biel is a Breath of Fresh Air

Jun 11 2010

Jessica Biel is a safe player. She is not one to take fashion risks. (The few times she did, she wasn’t so successful). Most of the time though she manages to pull off good up-to-date looks. There are just times when I feel like her fashion choices do not fit her athletic figure.

However it was a different story at a recent sighting of her promoting her new film The A-Team.

She was simply refreshing in her powder blue chiffon blouse, grey trousers, and light colored peep toes. Her beige clutch completes her very chic look. I think this style of dressing suits Jessica’s rather boyish frame best. It immediately struck a note with me as I am a fan of the androgynous look. The feminine blouse is balanced off by the wide leg trousers, completed by the no-fuss peep toes and an elegant neutral clutch.

Which brings me to the reason behind this entry. Jessica seems to have a clutch of the month (or the week). She was seen clutching this beauty twice in a row this week.

A sight to behold was Jessica in a magnificent Diane Von Furstenberg floral gown, neutral platforms and the mystery flap clutch at the recently concluded CFDA Fashion Awards. Obviously, I haven’t ID’ed this clutch but I did find some pieces with the same characteristics as hers.
