Classy Ivanka Trump and Her Vintage Style Mini Purse are Hired!

Jul 23 2010

I like Ivanka Trump. I like the fact that she has no scandal lying around somewhere; and of course, the fact that she’s a very smart, stylish, and classy businesswoman with a lot of spunk, who also happens to be tall, blond, and beautiful just makes me place her way up there.

And speaking of Ivanka, the heiress was spotted arriving at Fox Studios in Manhattan last June 24 looking like this:

Very sexy, very classy, and very expensive looking – from the top of her head all the way to the tip of her toes; that much I can say. Even her make up is perfect! I also love how she used a vintage style mini purse instead of the usual clutch to go with the whole outfit. It makes the whole look more interesting and more elegant.

Want to steal this style?

First, you need to keep your make up natural looking; no inch-thick cakey foundation, no dark eye make-up, nor clumpy mascara on your eyelashes. Keep it real. Then put these on:

Amy Winehouse: Psychosis and a Purple Python Clutch

Jul 17 2010

Amy Winehouse was spotted looking all glammed up last Tuesday. The Beehive Queen and sensational singer attended the premiere of Psychosis, a movie written and directed by her boyfriend Reg Traviss.

I have to admit, she looks good in that dress. I don’t normally go for her style, but this one seems to work alright. The only thing I’d probably change is her shoes, black peep toes would have looked better.

I especially love the purple python clutch in her hand. Actually, I think that’s the best piece in her whole outfit; the dress just comes second.

Python is definitely still hot. It’s on bags, it’s on shoes, it’s on dresses; it’s practically everywhere! So while it hasn’t simmered down yet, get down with the trend and get yourself some python purses.

If you want something less boring, try bright colored python accessories like Amy’s clutch. That will surely brighten up your whole look.

You can start with these:

From top left (clockwise): Lodis Royal Snake Spotlight Clutch, US$98; Urban Expressions Snake Skin Clutch, US$48; Whiting and Davis Python Print Elongated Clutch, US$215

From top left (clockwise): BCBG Max Azria Han 96 Clutch, US$198; Betsey Johnson Snake Mystique Large Top Zip, US$62; Touch Ups Nakita Clutch, US$37

Olivia Palermo: Fashion Week Fabulous

Jul 13 2010

So remember the article I did on Olivia Palermo a few days ago (click here to read article)? Well, it looks like she has redeemed herself from that one because the stylish TV personality was all fashionable and fabulous at the fashion week events held recently in Paris (Paris Fashion Week FW2010-11) and Germany (Mercedes Benz Fashion Week SS2011).

At the Elie Saab Couture Show in Paris, Olivia wore a purple leopard printed number cinched at the waist with a leopard printed belt. For some reason, even though she mixed two leopard prints together (which would usually result to overkill),  the combination worked really well for her.

And as if the dress and the belt weren’t busy enough, Olivia decided on a pair of rose embellished T-straps and a rose patterned sequin clutch as finishing touches. Her whole look was definitely busy but at the same time, it looked very much connected and in harmony with each other. In other words, she looked really good. And for that, Olivia gets a thumbs up.

At the Boss Black Show (Mercedes Benz Fashion Week), Olivia opted for understated elegance with a twist.

She wore a simple silk beige number paired with an even more classic looking pair of brown pumps. But to keep the look interesting, Olivia chose a stunning flower embellished hard case clutch in a striking red color as the statement accessory.

I love the contrasting red against all the neutral. It’s very sweet and unexpected. For this look, Olivia gets another thumbs up.

And on her last night at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week,  Olivia  chose to go busy again. This time, she wore a black polka-dot dress paired with snakeskin sandals, a stunning neckpiece, a brown braided belt, and another bright flower embellished purse. How’s that for looking busy?

Yet for some reason, despite all the prints and textures, the combination worked. Perhaps it was because she kept everything else in neutral color save for the clutch. Or perhaps it could be that the prints and textures were not as defined nor as loud, which ultimately made the whole mix work.

Whichever it was, one thing is for sure, Olivia gets another thumbs up for this one.

If you liked Olivia’s fashion week style, simply emulate the looks and pair it with these clutches:

Today, We Love….Denim Clutch Bags

Jul 10 2010

You know what would be great to carry around this summer? A denim clutch. Yup, there’s nothing better than a cool blue denim clutch to complete that casual summer look…

And that is why we’re so obsessed with it today. You see, the denim clutch is actually quite uncommon. Clutch bags are generally considered purses for dressier occasions, and dressier occasions call for the glittery, the shiny, and the glamorous; denim does not fall in any of those categories.

Fortunately, we did find a few brands bold enough to offer such a purse. Check out who they are:

BCBG Max Azria Denim Crossbody Clutch, US$128

A small denim crossbody that can function as an oversized clutch. Measures 11.5″ x 7.25″ x 2″

Diane Von Furstenberg Hayworth CEO Clutch in Denim, on sale for US$225

A true oversized denim clutch that features whipstitch detailing around its edges. Measures 14″ x 15″

Now these two are not exactly made of denim, but they look a lot like it:

MARC by Marc Jacobs Miss Marc Spot in, US$158

A round mini canvas crossbody purse from Marc Jacobs that can function as a clutch best suited for those downright casual outfits
