Oct 16 2012

Sometimes, all it takes is one important accessory to make you stand out. Damages star Rose Byrne shows us how at the recent premiere of “Falling For You” held at Terminal 5 in New York City. The actress arrived at the event with a red carpet-ready leather clutch by Celine which added a pop of color to an all-black outfit.

Rose Byrne at Target Celebrates ‘Falling For You’ in New York City, October 10

Her dewy makeup matched the simplicity of the black ensemble which had just the right touch of casual elegance apt for the occasion. A textured crew neck sweater created the perfect balance for a ruffle skirt and was accentuated by a leopard print skinny belt. A pair of Sergio Rossi platform pumps and the red-hot Celine clutch added designer style as Rose showed us that mixing and matching the practical and the posh isn’t hard to achieve.

The Celine clutch on focus is a classic slim leather wristlet with gold hardware and signature embossed logo at the front. If you’re looking for a similar red clutch that’s a bit on the practical side, we have some suggestions worth considering:

Mid-Fall Must-Haves: Why it’s Not Hard to Fall for These Clutches

Oct 9 2012

Fall is far from over and we still can’t enough of the season’s fab color trend: oxblood! This deep and dramatic dark red hue is great to wear day or night and has graced the runways in a gorgeous array of dresses, skirts, and pants. Also in season are the colors wine and burgundy which are  in the same palette as oxblood. But if you think you can’t pull off an oxblood ensemble or just want to accessorize, we have some clutch bag suggestions you’ll definitely fall for this year:

Z Spoke Zac Posen Clutch II, $250

We fancy this Zac Posen clutch for its trapezoidal structure and crocodile-embossed leather that speaks of quality and functionality. Opt for this clutch when you’re going for an edgy look.

Nicole Miller Rumer Clutch in Oxblood Patent Tundra, $149.95

What’s nice about this clutch is that it’s great for those who want a simple, sleek and polished look. It complements evening wear or casual outfits and stores all your essentials easily with its fold-over flap.

Rebecca Minkoff Mini 5 Zip Clutch, $195

If you’re a Jill of all trades, this clutch is perfect for you. We love this Rebecca Minkoff bag for its soft leather make and its utilitarian style. Its five zippered pockets (yes, five!) holds your small valuables in each individual pocket. The detachable strap also transforms your clutch into a shoulder bag.

Angela-Franchi Handbag in Wine, $94

Smooth satin and rosebud detail at the center are what make this Franchi clutch a great accessory for evening wear. Wine is another fall color and what better way to highlight this trend by gracing your arm or shoulder with this romantic statement piece.

Ombre Concave Side Rectangle Clutch, Overture Judith Leiber, $395

A show-stopping piece, this luxury clutch by Judith Leiber features beautifully-crafted snake-embossed leather with an ombré treatment. The faceted resin bow at the top of the clutch is hard to miss as well as the sparkling band that joins the two crystals.

Whatever your mood, need or even budget, these fall clutches are definite staples in your wardrobe. Go ahead and choose your arm candy now.

Emmy Report: Sublime Clutches at the 2012 Emmy Awards

Sep 25 2012

The annual Emmy Awards ushered in TV’s finest — the uber men and women traipsed along the red carpet, bringing with them all-Hollywood glamour on this star-filled momentous night. Of course, we immediately zeroed in on the bevy of evening clutches that made us sigh. As in dramatically TV-sigh. We noticed the pricey, sartorial Judith Leiber clutches on the arms of several celebs, beginning with Revenge’s Emily VanCamp.

Judith Leiber’s Crocodile East/West Clutch, $4,995

Anna Chlumsky of the My Girl fame also opted for a Judith Leiber arm candy. Wow, with that jaw-dropping price tag, the JL’s must be a helluva of a looker! I have yet to hold one of these clutches in my hand! Both VanCamp and Chlumsky donned black/grey/silver-hued frocks that matched their evening bags to a T. I actually think their dresses are 2 of the most elegant that night: tulle and lace make for classic evening gowns. Btw, Kelly Osbourne, Hayden Panattiere, Julianne Hough and Kristen Wigg brought JLs, too.

Judith Leiber clutch bags are visually stunning, alright. Other noteworthy evening bags at the Emmy Awards included a studded Burberry worn by Melissa McCarthy, a Ferragamo in the hands of Ginnifer Goodwin who looked incredibly cute in a Monique Lhuiller gown and a metal cage clutch brought by the eclectic Renee Bargh. Oh, and there’s another one that caught my attention: Kerry Washington’s lizard clutch by Kotur with a life-size metal lizard on the surface to boot! So her pet Lizzie decided to come along to the Emmy’s too.

Anna Kendrick’s Razor-Edge Rauwolf Clutch at End of Watch Premiere

Sep 19 2012

Anna Kendrick Los Angeles Premiere of “End Of Watch” held at Regal Cinemas – LA Live! Los Angeles, California – 17.09.12

Dressed to the nines in a two-tone gown by Elie Saab and a statement collar necklace by Karine Sultan, actress Anna Kendrick arrived on the red carpet with an ooh-la-la style for the premiere of her movie End of Watch. Her barely-there make-up was enviable, and so was the clutch on her hand. What is it? The mirrored glint caught everyone’s eye.

Copper Gemstone Clutch, $1,700.00

It is the Copper Gemstone Clutch by luxury designer Rauwolf. A rather bewitching thing, this Rauwolf clutch, mostly because it is designed to imitate a raw, earthen gemstone in the color of copper. You would think it is actually one of those stones that glow in the dark, found in copper mines and untouched caves. It added mystery to Anna Kendrick’s look, and what a sharp edge there too! Careful when rubbing elbows. *wink*. There’s nothing quite like this clutch. I rest my case.
